Mr. Matt Heibel

The principal is a very important job to any school. Mr. Heibel has been Principal at Lincoln Lutheran since 2008. He was born in Kansas, but moved to Lincoln when he was 10 and claims Lincoln as his home town. He attended Lincoln Lutheran Junior High School, Pius X High School and Concordia University - Seward, graduating with a degree in secondary science education in 1984. He received his Masters degree in Secondary Administration from the University of Missouri - St. Louis in 1993, and has taken many classes from various institutions since then. He is happily married to Susie Heibel, who teaches for LPS, and has three children, Nicole, Jesse, and Anne, who are Lincoln Lutheran graduates.

Mr. Heibel's first teaching position was at Lutheran High School North in St. Louis, where he taught science and was Assistant Principal for 11 years.  He spent five years at Concordia-Seward, two years as Principal at LSA High School in Decatur, Illinois, and six years at Norris High School, before coming to Lincoln Lutheran in 2008. He came to Lincoln Lutheran because of the opportunity of being a Principal and because he loves the environment at Lincoln Lutheran. He loves working with teachers, students, and parents, and feels Lincoln Lutheran is a great school that can become an even better school.  That is, after all, why his children attended here.
