Media Center Use

  • Library materials shall remain in the media center unless properly checked out.
  • Reference items (encyclopedias), current issues of magazines, newspapers, and items put on reserve for class projects cannot be checked out.  These items cannot leave the media center without permission from Mrs. Frazier.
  • As a general rule, items can be checked out for three weeks and may be renewed one time for an additional three weeks.  Arrangements can be made for items to be checked out for longer periods of time.
  • Students will be charged the cost of replacement for media center items not returned.  Students will also be charged for damage beyond reasonable repair.
  • If a student says a media center item has been returned and the item is not in the media center at the end of the school year, the student will be charged the cost of the item.
  • Students may lose checkout privileges if guidelines are abused.
  • The media center is only to be used for studying, research, and reading.  It is to be a productive workplace for students.
  • During school hours you will need to have a pass from a teacher or administrator to be in the media center.
  • Use of music devices or cell phones is not permitted in the media center without permission from Mrs. Frazier.
  • All school guidelines are applicable in the media center.
