The week of January 25-31, 2015 has been set apart by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod to give thanks to God for the gift of Lutheran Day Schools, begun by a small group of congregations back in 1847. Today, there are over 2200 Lutheran schools and daycare centers serving over 221,000 students across the United States. The theme for this year is "Mercy Forever", based on Mark 10:45.
The Student Council will be selling thankful turkeys for $1 during the month of November. Students and teachers will be encouraged to write things for which they are thankful on the turkeys to be added to the wall display by the school's east entrance. All proceeds from this fundraiser will then be donated to the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition. If you would like to purchase a thankful turkey, see a Student Council member or Miss Bockelman.
On Wednesday, March 5, the Student Council sponsored their annual Red Cross Blood Drive, which was met with outstanding support and success!
