Your Foundation Board
The Lincoln Lutheran School Association Foundation board members are selected by the LCMS congregations that are members of the Lincoln Lutheran School Association.
"Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them." You probably know some of them already, and any one of them would be happy to talk to you about ways to further Lutheran Education in and around Lincoln. Who we are...Dennis Brink has been a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for over ten years and a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for three years. He and his wife Joan have three children who have attended Lutheran Parochial schools. Kelly and Lauri attended Calvary/Messiah Elementary and are LL graduates with Lauri graduating from Concordia-Seward in 2004. Their son Matthew attended Messiah Elementary and is a current 9th grade student at LL. Dennis is a professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his hobby is watching soccer. Dennis's goal for the Foundation is to increase assets to $500,000 to fund tuition grants. Contact Information :
Mark Fahleson (Foundation Board Vice-President) has been a member of Christ Lutheran Church for over seven years and a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for six years. He and his wife Sara have three daughters. Abigail is a 1 st grader at Christ Schools, Sophia is three years old and Grace is one. Mark is an attorney with Rembolt Ludtke LLP. His hobbies are politics and baseball. Mark's goal for the Foundation is to increase the endowment fund to a level sufficient to provide full scholarships to any student who wants to attend Lincoln Lutheran or any of our Lutheran Elementary schools. Swede Glover has been a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran for 40 years, and has recently rejoined the Board of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation. He and his wife Mary have two children and two grandchildren. Daughter Suzanne and her husband Chris have one daughter, Nicole and live in Bellevue, NE. Son Brian and his wife Gina have one daughter, Jeanette and live in El Paso, Texas. Swede is retired, but stays very busy as administrator of Lincoln Midget Football, Inc. He also works with the Boy Scouts of America, Cornhusker Council. Swede's hobbies include golf, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, travelling, and working in his yard and flower garden. Gary Hammack has been a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for the past three years and an ex officio member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for three years. He and his wife Donna have two sons. Chris works in Bellevue as a software developer for Raytheon and A.J. is a senior at the University of Missouri at Kansas City . Gary's favorite hobby is golf. Gary 's goal for the Foundation is to work with a talented Foundation Board and the LLSA Board of Directors to provide outstanding opportunities for all students in our Lutheran educational system. Daniel Heibel and his wife, Marj, have been members of Christ Lutheran for four years. Prior to this, they were members of Messiah Lutheran for seven years. He became a member of the Foundation in 2000. Dan and Marj recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. They have three sons. Matthew and his wife Susie have three children; Nicole, Jesse and Anne. Mark and his wife Karen have three children; Jaclyn, Haley, and Michael. Micah and his wife Bobbi have two children; Kaitlin and Samantha. Dan has served as teacher and administrator in Lutheran schools in Kansas and Nebraska . He served as Chief Administrative Officer for Lincoln Lutheran School Association and retired in 1999. He left retirement to serve as interim principal of St. John Lutheran School in 2001, and retired again in 2003. Dan fills his time substitute teaching in parochial schools in the Lincoln area. He enjoys researching theological history, especially the study of heresies. Dan's goal for the Foundation is to establish a significant fund to lower tuition for all students attending Lincoln Lutheran schools. Contact Information :
Brian Larrington has been a member of Holy Savior for one year and has served on the Foundation for three months. He is not married and has no children. Brian works for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network doing Business Retirement and Estate Planning. His hobbies are running, cycling, photography and reading. Brian's goal for the Foundation is growth in assets to do great things with, growth in awareness and a strong vision for the long term. Contact Information :
Rod Smith (Foundation Board Treasurer) has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 16 years and a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for three years. He and his wife Gayle have three daughters. Lindsay is a Junior at Lincoln Lutheran High School , Alicia is a 7 th grader at Lincoln Lutheran Middle School , and Erika is in Kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran Elementary School . Rod is an accountant, whose hobbies are golf, hunting and travel. Rod's goal for the Foundation is to increase awareness of the Foundation projects and increase activity in estate planning with a result of doubling to tripling the current fund balance. Patty Stradley has been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for 14 years and a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for one year. She and her husband Kurt have two daughters (Mariah and Kyra). She is a Lutheran Community Services Specialist with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, serving Lutheran congregations and Thrivent members in using Thrivent Financial Fraternal dollars. Patty enjoys music, reading, and following her children's activities. Patty's goal for the Foundation is to have a greater awareness of the Foundation and its intent to allow more students the opportunity for a Lutheran Education at all levels. Contact Information :
Wil Tewes (Foundation Board President) has been a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for nine years and a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for four years. He and his wife June have four sons and 14 grandchildren. Rev. Mark is a pastor in Hudson , Wisconsin , Tim is an Executive for FACTS, Inc. in Lincoln , Dr. Doug is an orthopedic surgeon in Lincoln and Paul is a financial planner in Taylorville , Illinois . Wil has 25 years in professional Lutheran Education and about 20 years with Aid Association for Lutherans. He is currently an area representative for Wheat Ridge Ministries. Wil's hobbies include golf, following what the Grandkids are doing in school and in sports, and doing some traveling. Wil's goal for the Foundation is to establish an endowment that will have a positive impact on student involvement at Lincoln Lutheran Middle and Senior High Schools. Contact Information :
Scott von Minden has been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 25 years and a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for five years. He and his wife Cate have three children, Audra, Ross and Hugh. Scott is a Financial Consultant with RBC Dain Rauscher. His hobbies include hunting, motorcycling and football officiating. Scott's goal for the Foundation is to continue to grow the resources of the Foundation so that we can expand our assistance to students seeking a Christian education. Contact Information :
Randy Wilcox has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 20 years and a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Foundation for five years. He and his wife Charlene are the parents of three daughters.
