MS Track Results - Saturday, May 7

The Lincoln Lutheran Middle School Track & Field teams dominated the 9 school Fremont Lutheran Track & Field Meet, held Saturday, May 7th. No official team scores were kept, but by looking at the individual results, it is clear BOTH Warrior squads outscored the competition, and would have place first. Once again, there were many improvements by the Warrior athletes, as the girls registered 13 personal records/best, and the boys recorded 16 "PRs".

In the girls' competition, the Lady Warriors scored in all but two events, and recorded six first place finishes, including four different individuals and two relays. The individuals included Katie Klein in the High Jump with a personal best jump of 5' 1", Kacey Kohlhof in the 100 m Dash, Julia Pomerenke in the 100 m Hurdles with pr time of 17.5, and Jadyn Agee in the 800 m Run. Both the Lady Warrior 400 m Relay and 1600 m Relays recorded personal best times to compliment their victories. The 400 m Relay team of Makenzie Pedersen, Katie, Hannah Bassett, and Kacey ran a winning time of 55.5, and the 1600 m Relay team of Jady, Kacey, Julia, and Katie were clocked in a time of 4:36.2. Second place finishers included Katie Klein in the 100 m Hurdles, Makenzie Pedersen in the 100 m Dash, Hannah Bassett in the 200 m Dash, Paige Steinbauer in the 1600 m Run, Julia Pomerenke in the 400 m Run. Avery Blahauvietz placed 3rd in the Shot Put, as did Gussie Beckman in the 1600 close behind Paige in that event.

On the boys' side, the Warriors coped with not having on of our best runners, Kyle Glandt, competing due to an injured back. They still brought home four individual titles, as well as the 1600 m Relay. Harrison Martin took two 1st place finishes in the Long Jump and 110 m High Hurdles, with a personal best time of 18.5. Josh Wendland won the High Jump with personal best leap of 5' 4", and Luke Hamann recorded a pr of 61.6 in the 400 m Dash to take home first. Right behind Luke was Justin Parrish, who placed 2nd in that event. Derek Baden finished close behind Harrison in the Long Jump to place 2nd, and Quinn Stahr and Austin Peterson also brought home 2nd place finishes in the distance races. Quinn had a personal best 1600 m time of 5:35 to place 2nd in that event, with Austin right behind in 3rd. Austin came back to place 2nd in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:33.4, with Quinn close behind in 4th. The Warrior 1600 m Relay team of Derek, Spencer Schulz, Luke, and Justin easily won their race. There was also a special "mixed 800 Medley Relay" made up of Makenzie Pedersen, Kacey Kohlhof, Luke Hamann, and B.J. Schmeling, that group placed 2nd in the event.

The Middle School Track & Field team has one meet left at the Lutheran School Championships, at Concordia University, on May 14th. The team hopes to wrap up their already successful season on a positive note.
