MS Track Results - April 26th

The Lincoln Lutheran Middle School Track & Field team stepped up in competition, as they participated in the Norris Invitational, on Friday, April 26th.  The meet was composed of 10 other schools, including Lincoln Christian and nine large Class B schools.  Despite the disparity in numbers, both young Warrior squads placed high, as the Lady Warriors placed 3rd out of 11 schools, finishing behind only Gretna and Elkhorn Middle Schools.  The Warrior boys finished 5th, just 2 points behind Beatrice.  Gretna won the boys' side, followed by Elkhorn Ridge, and Elkhorn in 3rd.

Both squads had many personal best performances, and several high finishes.  In the girls' division, Julia Bloom brought home two first place medals winning the 75 m Hurdles, and the 195 m Hurdles.  Rebecca Ziems had two 3rd place finishes in the Triple Jump and 400 m Dash.  Ziems was also part of two successful relay teams, as the 7th grade 400 m Relay team of Ziems, Hannah Fitzsimmons, Erin Maier, and Kayla Ernstmeyer finished 3rd, and she was joined by Hannah, Amber LeGrande, and Rachel Garbe in a second place finish in the 1600 m Relay.  Others earning points for the Lady Warriors included Hayley Steinbauer, who placed 4th in the 1600 m Run with a personal best time of 6:03.7.  Mackenzie Koepke placed 6th in the High Jump also with a personal best leap of 4' 6".

In the boys' division, Ryan Volin brought home three 1st place medals, winning the High Jump with a personal best leap of 5' 2", the 1600 m Run, with a personal best time of 5:02.7, and also the 800 m Run.  Volin also anchored the 3rd place 1600 m Relay team, made up of Logan Kreizel, Isaac Zager, Tath Dak, and Volin.  Reid Martin also brought home two awards, placing 3rd in the Triple Jump, with a personal best leap of 32' 7", and 6th in the 75 m High Hurdles.

The team's next meet will be at the Raymond Central Invitational, on Tuesday, April 30th.
