Middle School Girls Teams Notch 6 Wins in 7 Days
The Middle School Girl's B-Team had a busy week starting off with a strong win against St. John Seward on Tuesday, January 31st. The Lady Warriors defeated the Foxes again in the first round of the Lincoln Lutheran Tournament on Friday before losing a close game to Wahoo Neumann in the Championship game on Saturday. The B-Team rebounded with a great victory over Raymond Central on Monday. The win helps improve their record to 7-3 on the season.
The A-Team girls hosted the St John Seward A-Team last Friday for the first round of the Lincoln Lutheran Tourney defeating the Foxes 32-13. On Saturday the Lady Warriors claimed the tournament title with a 36-34 overtime victory against the Lincoln Christian Crusaders. Lauren Stull played lock down defense during the title game shutting down the Crusader's best player. Hadley Volzke calmly attacked the Crusader press rendering it ineffective. The A-Team then hosted Raymond Central on Monday defeating the Mustangs 46-13 with ten different athletes scoring for the Warriors. The win improves the A-Team record to 7-1 on the season. Over the last three games, the team was led in scoring by Abi Wohlgemuth (31), Leah Jurgens (25), and Addi Ernstmeyer (22).
Both teams are next in action on February 20th at Lincoln Christian.
