Conference LL Volleyball

The Warriors won their first Conference Championship since 2005! The Warriors accomplished this without dropping a set throughout the whole tournament. They had a sweep in the opening night of pool play out at Hastings St. Cecilia. In the first match they had a nice come from behind win, after trailing 23-16 in the first set, Marriah Buss added 5 ace serves to help clinch the first set over Concordia Omaha 28-26. The Warriors then cruised in the second set 25-9 to seal the win.

400 career victory

Coach Sue Ziegler picked up her 400th career victory when Lincoln Lutheran went 2-0 in pool play Thursday at the Centennial Conference Tournament in Hastings. "I'm inspired every day by the players and my assistant coaches. I feel very blessed to be a part of that culture on a daily basis," Ziegler said. "It keeps me going every day. I've had some great student-athletes throughout the years that I feel very fortunate to be a part of whether it be through teaching or coach. Many (coaching) assistants that have turned into long-term relationships.

Softball Sub-district Results

Subdistrict softball Results from Tuesday: Crete/LL won 6-3 over NEN. Beatrice won 10-2 over Crete/LL in 5 innings.

Crete/LL Subdistrict runner-up.  Beatrice is subdistrict champion. But because of Crete/LL performance throughout the season, the team will still participate in District games on Friday.  Time, location, and opponent will be officially posted later today.


MS Volleyball Results

The A and B teams both defeated Syracuse yesterday, Tuesday October 8th. A team: 25-23, 26-24 & B team: 26-24, 25-16

Girls Golf Team going to State

The Girls Golf team shot a team total of 402 to finish runner-up at Districts on Tuesday at Hidden Valley golf course.   The team was led by Grace Fahleson who shot a 92 to finish third overall.  Natalie Barrett followed with a 97 to finish 5th.  Mallory Schmidt shot a 106, and Rachael Volin fired a 107 to complete the team scoring.  Lincoln Christian won the C-1 District competition with a team total of 386.

Cross Country Results 10/8

The Lincoln Lutheran Cross-Country Team had another great performance at the Centennial Conference Meet on Tuesday at Pioneers Park. The boys team finished in 5th and the Girls team finished 6th.  The boys were led by Tanner Lebo with a 13th place medal finish and a time of 18:52, followed by Brady Franzen 25th, 19:59, Ben Blankenbiller 27th, 20:05, Matthew Wing ran a personal best time of 21:12 in 41st place followed by Jacob Wertz, 42nd, 21:25, Bo Claridge, 47th, 21:50. In the JV race Dylan Christensen finished in 20th, 22:35, and Quan Nguyen, 47th, 29:19.

HS Varsity Volleyball Results

The Varsity volleyball team went 2-1 on Saturday to take Second Place in day 2 of the Ashland Greenwood Invitational. The Warriors went 3-0 in pool play by defeating Auburn in the 1st match of the day by scores of 25-18, 25–8. In tournament play, the Warriors went on to defeat Omaha Roncalli 20-25, 25-16, 28-26. They went 3 sets with Wahoo in the championship match before falling 22-25, 25-18, 20-25. 

Softball Subdistricts Results

On the first day of Softball Subdistrict play these were the results:

Crete/LL defeated North Bend Central 14-0

Beatrice defeated NEN 12-0

NEN defeated North Bend Central.  NEN is eliminated.

Beatrice defeated Crete/LL 7-4

Crete/LL will play NEN at 2PM on Tuesday.  The winner plays Beatrice at 4 and possibly 6. 

District games will be played on Friday. 

Crete/LL Softball Team Wins Conference

Crete/LL softball team battled the cold and rain, but still had an awesome day on Friday at the Central Conference softball tournament.  In three games played, the team scored 40 runs and only allowed two.  The team hit 9 total home runs while only playing 10 total innings.  The 1st game against Holdrege was a 12-0 victory.  In Game 2 against Adams Central, the Cardinals scored 12 runs in the 2nd inning, to add to the 3 in the 1st inning for a 15-1 victory.    Game 3 vs Seward started slow with no runs by either team in the 1st inning.  The Cardinals
