Softball Sub-district Results

Subdistrict softball Results from Tuesday: Crete/LL won 6-3 over NEN. Beatrice won 10-2 over Crete/LL in 5 innings.

Crete/LL Subdistrict runner-up.  Beatrice is subdistrict champion. But because of Crete/LL performance throughout the season, the team will still participate in District games on Friday.  Time, location, and opponent will be officially posted later today.


Softball Subdistricts Results

On the first day of Softball Subdistrict play these were the results:

Crete/LL defeated North Bend Central 14-0

Beatrice defeated NEN 12-0

NEN defeated North Bend Central.  NEN is eliminated.

Beatrice defeated Crete/LL 7-4

Crete/LL will play NEN at 2PM on Tuesday.  The winner plays Beatrice at 4 and possibly 6. 

District games will be played on Friday. 

Crete/LL Softball Team Wins Conference

Crete/LL softball team battled the cold and rain, but still had an awesome day on Friday at the Central Conference softball tournament.  In three games played, the team scored 40 runs and only allowed two.  The team hit 9 total home runs while only playing 10 total innings.  The 1st game against Holdrege was a 12-0 victory.  In Game 2 against Adams Central, the Cardinals scored 12 runs in the 2nd inning, to add to the 3 in the 1st inning for a 15-1 victory.    Game 3 vs Seward started slow with no runs by either team in the 1st inning.  The Cardinals

Softball Team Wins at Columbus

Crete/LL softball team traveled to Columbus Lakeview on Monday.  JV won 13-0 in 3 innings.  Varsity won  16-1 in 3 innings.  The team travels to Omaha Gross tonight. This will be the final game for the JV team.

Conference tournament is on Friday in Hastings.  Crete/LL is the top seed and begins play at 10:45 Friday morning against the winner of #8 Holdrege and #9 Schuyler.

Results from Crete/LL Softball Tournament

The Crete/LL Varsity softball team hosted a tournament this weekend at Tuxedo Park in Crete.  The Cardinals first game was a 16-1 victory against Scottsbluff in 3 innings. 

The 2nd game against Northwest was a little tougher, but the Cardinals held on for a 2-1 win. 

The Championship game was against Fairbury and the Cardinals prevailed with a 12-3 victory. 

Monday the team travels to Columbus Lakeview and Tuesday they will play at Omaha Gross.

HS Softball Results 9/26

Thursday, Crete/LL Cardinal Softball team played at Beatrice. JV lost 9 – 5.

Softball Results

Tuesday, Crete/LL Cardinal Softball team played Milford in the last home game of the year and Senior night. 

JV won 11 – 5.

Varsity started out with a 2 run home-run by Leah Jurgens.  But in the middle of the bottom of the 3rd inning, lightening delayed the game.  Since the lightening didn’t stop, the game had to.  Even though the Cardinals were leading 3-1, it wasn’t considered an official game. And it will not be rescheduled. 

Softball Results 9/19

Crete/LL Varsity Softball extended their undefeated record to 18-0 with a 10-0 win in 4 innings vs Southern/Diller-Odell in Wymore on Thursday.  This was the 6th shut-out win of the year!  There were 2 home runs by various players.   Kaitlyn Wendt reached base both times at bat. 

Next Game is Tuesday vs Milford.  It will be the last home game for the season. Come show your support of our LL players on the Crete softball team co-op.   JV plays at 5, Varsity at 6:30.  

Softball Results 9/17

Tuesday results. Crete/LL JV lost to GICC 13-9.  They started the final inning down 13-3 and staged a comeback including Brianna Worley hitting and then reaching base on a fielder’s choice. But it wasn’t enough. Varsity won 15-3 in 3 innings.  There were 4 home runs by various players and double by Kaitlyn Wendt. Below is an interview with Coach Carr about the York game on Monday night.  He is discussing the game and the reason for their success this season.  Nice comments about Kaitlyn as well. 

LL/Crete Softball vs. York

Monday 9/16, the LL/Crete Softball team went up against York. York JV defeated Crete/LL 13-5. The LL/Crete Varsity won in 4 innings 13-3.  Kaitlyn walked on for her 1st at-bat and hit a double for her 2nd at bat, scoring both times she was on base.  Next game tonight at 5 for JV and 6:30 for Varsity IN CRETE vs GICC.  Game will be shown on  Thursday the team travels to Wymore to play Southern/Diller-Odell @ 6:30.
