Conference LL Volleyball

The Warriors won their first Conference Championship since 2005! The Warriors accomplished this without dropping a set throughout the whole tournament. They had a sweep in the opening night of pool play out at Hastings St. Cecilia. In the first match they had a nice come from behind win, after trailing 23-16 in the first set, Marriah Buss added 5 ace serves to help clinch the first set over Concordia Omaha 28-26. The Warriors then cruised in the second set 25-9 to seal the win.

400 career victory

Coach Sue Ziegler picked up her 400th career victory when Lincoln Lutheran went 2-0 in pool play Thursday at the Centennial Conference Tournament in Hastings. "I'm inspired every day by the players and my assistant coaches. I feel very blessed to be a part of that culture on a daily basis," Ziegler said. "It keeps me going every day. I've had some great student-athletes throughout the years that I feel very fortunate to be a part of whether it be through teaching or coach. Many (coaching) assistants that have turned into long-term relationships.

MS Volleyball Results

The A and B teams both defeated Syracuse yesterday, Tuesday October 8th. A team: 25-23, 26-24 & B team: 26-24, 25-16

HS Varsity Volleyball Results

The Varsity volleyball team went 2-1 on Saturday to take Second Place in day 2 of the Ashland Greenwood Invitational. The Warriors went 3-0 in pool play by defeating Auburn in the 1st match of the day by scores of 25-18, 25–8. In tournament play, the Warriors went on to defeat Omaha Roncalli 20-25, 25-16, 28-26. They went 3 sets with Wahoo in the championship match before falling 22-25, 25-18, 20-25. 

MS Volleyball: LC Invitational Tourney

The A team won the Lincoln Christian tournament on Saturday. They went 3-0 beating:

Bishop Neumann: 22-25, 25-21, 15-12

Crete: 25-18, 25-21

Freeman: 25-20, 25-22

HS Volleyball Results 10/3

The Warriors had 2 sweeps on Thursday night at the opening of the Ashland-Greenwood Tournament. The first match over Omaha Gross 25-11, 25-15, and in the second match over Ralston 25-14, 25-13. Marriah Buss has 22 kills and surpassed the 2,000 career kills mark. Congratulations Marriah! Abi Wohlgemuth added 10 kills and 5 blocks. Lexie Kreizel and Raegan Holle contributed 5 ace serves each, and Kreizel had 12 digs on the night. Paige Trutna put up 28 set assists. The Warriors will be in action again at the tournament on Saturday.

Marriah Buss reaches 2,000 kills mark

Warrior Senior volleyball player Marriah Buss surpassed the 2,000 career kills mark Thursday night at the opening of the Ashland Greenwood tournament. She had 22 kills on the evening to surpass the mark that only 2 players in Nebraska have ever accomplished!! Way to go Marriah!! Marriah is planning to continue playing volleyball for Wichita State in college.

HS Volleyball Results 9/26

The Reserves, JV, and Varsity teams were all successful in taking straight sets from Crete at the last home dual of the season. The Reserves team went 2-0 with scores of 25-8, 25-15. The JV team also went 2-0 with scores of 25-15, 25-20. The Varsity team went 3-0 with scores of 25-19, 25-11, 25-12. In that match the team ended up with 10 ace serves, and a high hitting efficiency. Marriah Buss put down 20 kills, Paige Trutna 19 set assists, and Abi Wohlgemuth added 4 blocks and 7 kills, while Lexie Kreizel had 8 digs. 

HS Volleyball Results 9/24

The JV team took down Wahoo Neumann 2-1 last night in an exciting match up between the teams!

The  Varsity won both matches on Tuesday night in their triangular, by taking down 2 Conference teams, Archbishop Bergan and Wahoo Neumann. The Warriors won 25-15, 25-11 over Bergan, and 25-23, 25-19 over Wahoo Neumann. In the other match, Wahoo Neumann beat Bergan in 2 sets.
