Rachel Garbe received the KFOR Sportcaster Club All-City Award & Scholarship. Only 9 total student athletes from Lincoln receive this award in scholarship. She was recognized at the banquet on Wednesday, April 26th. There are 5 criterias for this award: Senior Athlete, High GPA and class standing, High sports achievements, Many extracurricular activities and has college plans. Congrats to Rachel for this accomplishment.
Congratulations to Grant Johnson! He signed to play golf for Nebraska Wesleyan on April 16. The signing ceremony took place in the Copper Canyon Golf Club in Buckeye Arizona. Grant was with his parents, Carl and Abbie Johnson, and former Lincoln Lutheran exchange student Simon Braathen. We want to wish Grant God's richest blessings on his college career at Nebraska Wesleyan.
Congratulations to the six seniors elected to the 2017 Prom Court. Final voting took place in AP on Friday. The King and Queen were announced on Saturday, April 22nd at the Delray Ballroom in downtown Lincoln. Congratulations to Triet Ngo and Cassie Shambaugh-Miller on being named the 2017 Prom King and Queen! The 2017 court members are Amber LeGrande, Hope Bassett, Cassie Shambaugh-Miller, Joel Stennett, Triet Ngo, and Luke Bartels.
21st Annual Lincoln Lutheran Men of Faith Basketball Tournament
The Lincoln Lutheran Men of Faith basketball tournament was once again a tremendous success. Ten teams and seventy-five players participated in this year’s tournament. The Christian fraternity was positive and the action was once again very exciting!
Lincoln Lutheran Middle School Basketball Teams Make Historic Run at Nationals: For only the second time in school history, the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors Middle School Boys and Girls Basketball Teams participated in the Lutheran National Tournament in Valparaiso, Indiana on March 23-26. The Lady Warriors relied on strong defense to finished the tournament with a 3-2 record and captured 6th place out of a field of 32 teams from across the United States.
On Sunday, March 19, an induction ceremony was held to celebrate new members to the LL National Honor Society. New members for 2017-18 are: Alyssa Barnhouse, Cayden Bergt, Tessa Brazda, Khai Dinh Van, Grant Donovan, Hannah Farris, Megan Garbe, Lydia Grimpo, Trevor LeGrande, Isaac McCoy, Jacob Meyer, Benjamin Moll, Ella Moll, Gretchen Moll, Huong Nguyen, Jackson Oerman, Josie Puelz, Zachary Streich, Allie Shambaugh-Miller, Noah Stueber, Rachel Ziems. Congratulations!
On March 11, the Lincoln Lutheran Girls Soccer team went to the "Saturday Sing-A-Long" at Gateway Vista Senior Living Community located at 225 N 56th St, right down the street from the school. The girls sang songs along with the residents. Miss Bockelman, one of the team's assistant coaches who took the group of girls said, "It was so fun to see the smiles on the faces of both the residents and our students as they sang together." The weekend even coordinator said they rarely get groups to come and join them and appreciated the girls taking the time.
