ACADEMICS
The mission of Lincoln Lutheran’s Guidance department is to provide a comprehensive program that addresses the academic, career, personal, social, emotional and spiritual development of all students. The Guidance Director works in partnership with parents/guardians, staff, and community to enable all students to become successful lifelong learners, productive citizens and faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
Lincoln Lutheran has a full-time school counselor that is responsible for a wide variety of work in the academic, social emotional, mental health and collaboration realms.
Things to Consider Regarding Off-Campus College Visits
College visits are vital to students making appropriate choices for their educational undertaking. Consider contacting a college or university of interest if you and your student will be in the area. Campus visits are typically set up through the institution's admissions office and contact information will likely be available online through the school's website. Think of questions you have about programs offered, financial aid, activities, living arrangements, and any other aspect of campus life that will inform your decision and request more information during your visit.
Please remember that a post-secondary institution that was the perfect fit for a family member may not be the best choice for your son or daughter.
Lincoln Lutheran's Policy: Off-Campus College Visits
Lincoln Lutheran allows up to three college visits sanctioned by the high school during the senior year. The amount of time for those visits is to be worked out through the guidance and principal's office.
Students will need to request a Planned Absence Form, commonly referred to as a Blue Sheet, from the office and follow the guidelines prior to a college visit.
College Representatives at Lincoln Lutheran
Some area colleges and universities may send representatives to the Lincoln Lutheran campus. Please read the announcements for dates and times of college visits and talk to your student about meeting with representatives of institutions they may be interested in attending.
Lincoln Lutheran partners with Concordia University to help successful high school students get a jump start on college. The program provides teachers with the information and support they need to teach college-credit classes, allowing students to earn college credit at a reduced cost before graduating. This program offers courses found in the general education requirements of many colleges and universities.
Tuition
Tuition is $90 per credit hour. Payments are made directly to Concordia through EventBrite.
Transferring Credits
Courses taken through Concordia Dual Credit program are transferable to many colleges and universities. Students are strongly encouraged to check with the institution of their choice regarding the acceptance and application of transfer credit. It is the institution receiving the credit that determines if the credit is accepted and how it is applied.
